Location of the RF-N engine V-belts
1. Side cover; 2. V-belt; 3. Crankshaft pulley; 4. Left and right toothed belt guards 5. V-belt idler; 6. Bypass roller; 7. Toothed belt; 8. Tension roller with spring
Removing
1. Disconnect the negative ground cable from the battery.
Attention! This erases the contents of electronic storage devices, such as the radio code. Read before disconnecting the battery subsection 2.11.
2. Raise the car and remove the right front wheel.
3. Remove the lower engine cover in the right wheel arch.
4. Remove the V-belt.
5. Block the engine and turn away bolts of fastening of a belt pulley of a cranked shaft.
6. To lock the engine, shift to 5th gear and have an assistant depress the brake pedal.
7. Remove the crankshaft pulley.
8. Remove the right and left toothed belt covers.
9. Remove the engine mount.
10. Remove glow plugs.
11. To turn the engine crankshaft, apply the handbrake, set the gearbox to neutral. Turn the crankshaft wheels from the side of the right wheel arch with the help of a wrench and a head.
Attention! Never turn the crankshaft at the camshaft wheels through the toothed belt drive to avoid overloading the toothed belt.
12. When reinstalling the toothed belt, mark it. At the same time, an arrow of the direction of rotation should be applied to the belt with a scriber. The motor rotates clockwise.
13. Unscrew the bypass roller.
14. Remove the toothed belt. After that, do not turn the gears.
Attention! Before removing, check once again whether the mark on the camshaft wheel coincides with the edge of the cylinder head, correct if necessary.
Attention! If necessary, check the camshaft with the toothed belt removed, neither piston should be at TDC. Otherwise serious damage to pistons and valves may occur.
15. Set cylinder 1 to TDC before marking. To do this, turn the crankshaft until the marks match (1) on the camshaft gear (2) labeled on the front plate. Then rotate the crankshaft wheel 1/4 turn (90°) left or right. The label should now be facing left or right.
Installation
Attention! Do not bend or twist the toothed belt. Be sure to replace dirty, damaged or worn belts. Check up uniformity and ease of the course of a tension roller.
1. Check if the crankshaft wheel is aligned with the marks in the figure. At the same time, the marking on the camshaft wheel must match the marking on the front plate. If not, rotate to the correct position. For instructions on turning the engine with the toothed belt removed, see "Withdrawal".
2. Apply toothed belt. When applying the old belt, apply in accordance with the direction of rotation arrow marked.
Attention! Make sure the belt fits the wheels well and does not sag.
3. Install and secure with a tightening torque of 50 Nm the bypass roller.
Tension
1. Loosen the idler pulley bolt just enough to allow the idler pulley to move against the toothed belt under spring force.
2. Turn the crankshaft two turns clockwise until the marks on the camshaft and on the front plate match. Check again that all labels match.
3. Tighten the idler pulley bolt to 50 Nm.
4. Turn the crankshaft two turns in the direction of engine rotation and recheck the adjustment.
5. Install and secure with a force of 10 Nm the right and left toothed belt covers.
6. Block the engine and insert the bolts of the crankshaft belt pulley, tighten them with a force of 30 Nm.
7. To lock the engine, shift to 5th gear and have an assistant depress the brake pedal.
8. Install glow plugs.
9. Install and tension the V-belt.
10. Establish a casing in the right wheel arch.
11. Connect the negative ground cable to the battery.
12. If you have a clock, set the time and set the radio's security code.
