Removal



1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disconnect the PCV valve hose and ventilation hoses from the cylinder head cover.

3. Label the spark plug wires and disconnect them from the spark plugs.

3. Label the spark plug wires and disconnect them from the spark plugs.


4. Disconnect the PCV valve hose (A) and ventilation hoses from the cylinder head cover and remove the power steering hose bracket bolts (B).

5. On 1996 and later models, disconnect the crankshaft sensor.

6. Remove the cylinder head cover bolts in the reverse order of the tightening sequence shown.

7. Disconnect any hoses or wires that interfere with removing the cover and remove the cover.

Installation



1. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder head and head cover.

2. Apply sealant to one side of the cover gasket and install the gasket on the cover.

5. Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.
