1. Turn the plugs in the holes by hitting the side of each plug with a blunt rod.

3. Using a plastic scraper, scrape away all traces of sealant from the mating surface of the cylinder block.

4. Unscrew or drill out the oil channel plugs from the cylinder block. Use new plugs during assembly.

7. Clean the threads of the holes in the block using taps of the required size. Clean the cylinder head bolts and main bearing bolts.

9. Using a special tool, drive new plugs, lubricated with sealant, into the holes in the block.

10. Apply sealant to the oil passage plugs and screw them into the block.
