Injectors — removal and installation (Mazda Capella GD)

Send the injectors to a diesel repair shop for pressure testing or repair. This work should never be carried out independently, since in addition to the need for a special tool, you can get injured due to compressed air in the nozzles if your fingers are near the shut-off cone.

To detect a malfunctioning injector, you need to unscrew the fuel lines from the injectors one by one and start the engine.

If the engine noise level does not change after disconnecting a certain fuel line, this means that the corresponding injector is defective.

To install the injector, you need to disconnect the fuel line and unscrew the injector with a 27 mm spanner.

When installing, use new heat-shielding washers and insert them so that the side with the red mark is opposite the injector.

Tighten the injectors to a torque of 70 Nm and the fuel lines to a torque of 25 Nm. Bleed the fuel system as described in chapter 8.2.

If they only want to replace the injector, then they can disassemble the injector body. This should only be done in a clean environment. To do this, clamp the upper part in a vice and unscrew the lower part using the Allen key. After this, you need to clamp the lower part in a vice and remove the parts one by one.

Assemble the new injector in reverse order and tighten both housing halves to a torque of 50 Nm. To do this, clamp the upper part in a vice again.
