Note: Manufacturers update their recommendations regarding lubricants and fluids from time to time. You can obtain the latest recommendations from your dealer or service station.


Motor oil:
  • Type - All-season API
  • Viscosity: 5W-30

Automatic transmission fluid - Meroon III

Manual Transmission Oil - SAE 75W/90

Brake fluid type: DOT 3

Power steering fluid - Automatic transmission fluid Magsop III

Fuel type: Unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher

Filling capacities*



Engine oil with filter change:
  • V6 Engine - 4.0 L
  • 4-cylinder engine - 3.5 l

Automatic transmission**:
  • V6 engine - 6.8 l
  • 4-cylinder engine - 5.7 l

Manual transmission - 2.7 l

Coolant:

Spark plug type and gap between electrodes:

Type:
  • 4-cylinder models NGK 8KR5E-11 or Motocraft AGSP 32C
  • V-shaped models from 1993 to 1997 — NGK ZFR5F-11 or Motocraft AGSP 33C
  • V-shaped models since 1998 - Nlppondenao KPJ16CR8

Gap:
  • 1988 models and V6 engines - 0.70-0.79 mm
  • Other models - 1.00-1.09 mm

The resistance of high-voltage wires is 16 kOhm per 1 m of wire

Cylinder firing order:
  • 4-cylinder engine - 1-3-4-2
  • V6 Engine - 1-2-3-4-5-6

Ignition timing:


  • 4-cylinder engine - 11-13° BTDC
  • V6 engine - 9-11° BTDC

Cooling system



Thermostat:
  • Opening temperature: 81-85°C
  • Full opening - 96°C
