Connect a tachometer to the engine and increase the engine speed to 2500 rpm. Slowly reduce the engine speed and determine at what speed the air spring piston contacts the throttle lever (figure 15.31). The piston rod should touch the lever at 1900–2500 rpm. If this doesn't happen, loosen the lock nut and adjust the air shock absorber's position by rotating it. To replace, loosen the lock nut and unscrew the air shock absorber from the bracket.
