Used Engine - Engine that has been in use (from a wrecked or used car) is often a good and fairly inexpensive solution to the problem of restoring the car's functionality. Some engines of this kind even have a factory warranty. However, before purchasing such an engine, check it thoroughly. Measure compression, vacuum, inspect it for leaks. If possible, ask the seller to start the engine either in the car or on a test stand and check its operation.
