- Ensure that all parts are clean and free of foreign matter before they are sent for assembly.
- Apply a thin layer of lubricant to all rotating and sliding parts. This should be done before assembly, but not after the parts have already been assembled, as the oil will not be able to reach the appropriate places in the bearings. It is especially important that the pistons, piston rings and cylinder walls are generously lubricated with engine oil before assembly.
- All cylinder block parts must be thoroughly cleaned if the engine has been completely disassembled. When partially disassembling, ensure that no foreign objects can come into contact with parts that have not been disassembled or with hollow surfaces. To prevent this, all holes must be sealed or covered with rags.
- It is best to blow out oil channels and holes with compressed air. If compressed air is not available, the channels and holes can be cleaned with a piece of wood, but under no circumstances with a metal object. O-rings, seals, etc. should always be renewed. In no case should you skimp on this or use damaged parts.
- The tables of parameters and dimensions show the wear limits of most moving parts. If there is any doubt about any part or the wear limit is about to be reached, the parts are replaced to save on re-disassembly.
- All replacement parts must be from Mazda only, and must have the same engine number. because the details are constantly being improved and because of this they change.
