Throttle Body (EGI) — inspection (Mazda Capella GC)

1. Turn the throttle lever all the way and check that it moves freely. When at rest, the lever should come into contact with the stop adjustment screw. If necessary, clean the shaft parts and also check for jamming of the shock absorber.

2. Start the engine and warm it up to normal temperature.

3. With the engine idling, disconnect each hose and check the vacuum drip as shown in the figure. There should be no vacuum in ports A, B and C. However, there should be intake manifold vacuum at ports D and E.



4. Repeat the test with the engine speed above idle. There should be vacuum at ports A, B, and C, but ports D and E should have less vacuum than the intake manifold.
