- Removal flanges:
Lubricate the sealing ring along the working sealing edge and around the circumference and carefully press it into the flange, making sure to cut off the outer surface. Press the sealing ring into the rear flange and into the oil pump in the direction from the outside inwards.
Carefully place the flange with the seal inserted onto the crankshaft and center it well. Tighten the bolts evenly around the circumference. At the rear flange, the seal will protrude onto the sealing surface of the oil pan and the excess sealing material should be cut off with a sharp knife, as shown in the figure 104.

- Installation of flanges:
Lubricate the appropriate sealing ring along the working sealing edge and place it over the crankshaft and into the hole in the flange or oil pump.
Place a suitable piece of pipe on the outer edge of the sealing ring and press the ring into the hole, ensuring that the sealing surface is cut off. In doing so, be careful not to damage the sealing ring.
