Removing
1. Relieve pressure in the fuel system (see chapter 4). Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Warning. If your vehicle is equipped with an anti-theft audio system. Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that the Weight has an unlock code for it.
2. Drain the coolant into a clean container (see chapter 1).
3. Remove the inlet duct (see chapter 4).
4. At the throttle body, disconnect the damper actuator, hoses and electrical connectors. The damper body can remain screwed to the manifold. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the intake manifold.
5. Tag then disconnect all wires. hoses and brackets attached to the intake manifold (pic. 8.5,a,6).
6. Disconnect high-voltage wires from candles and unhook them from holders. Leave the wires connected to the ignition distributor.
7. Nozzles may remain in the manifold. but from them it is necessary to disconnect the fuel supply line, electrical wiring connectors and the vacuum hose of the fuel pressure regulator (see fig. 8.5.a).
8. Behind the manifold, disconnect the variable manifold configuration control electrical connectors. Tag and disconnect the vacuum hoses and coolant hoses attached to the manifold (see fig. 8.6). Act slowly and carefully. Access to the space behind the manifold is difficult and not all hoses are visible. Do not attempt to remove the manifold until you are sure that all hoses have been disconnected.
9. Turn away nuts and bolts of fastening of a collector to lecturers remove a collector from the engine (pic. 8.9). Do not try to wring out the manifold with a lever if it is stuck on the gasket.
Installation
10. Scrape off the remains of the old gasket and sealant from the mating surfaces of the manifold and cylinder heads, then wash the surfaces with a nitro solvent or acetone.
11. Under the collector passes the connecting pipe of the cooling system (pic. 8.11). Due to the difficulty of accessing this area, you need to take advantage of the fact that the collector is removed and replace the hose and its clamps.
12. Lay new gaskets on the cylinder heads (pic. 8.12) and install the manifold. Be careful not to move the gaskets when doing this. Secure the manifold with bolts and nuts.
13. Tighten the nuts and bolts in a few steps until the specified torque is reached. Tighten fasteners from the middle to the ends of the manifold.
14. Establish other details in sequence, return to their removal.
15. Fill the cooling system. Start the engine and check for fuel, coolant and vacuum leaks.
